Mostly, that is due to a psychological tic I have where I adore bright lips and feel like I am a corpse in muted pink. You know, like normal people.
Chi Chi Exhibitionist is a damn pretty red. I bought it as I was eagerly awaiting the day that my postman gave me a parcel containing MAC Lady Danger. I heard post from the US is stupidly slow so I felt I would be waiting a while (in the end, it only took 2 weeks). To tide me over, I bought Exhibitionist - a matte, warm toned red.
Chi Chi Exhibitionist and I didn't get off to a good start. I tried this lippie out and tweeted that I didn't like the formula - it wouldn't stick to my lips. I had licked my lips prior to application and there was no way that Exhibitionist would go on smoothly. My lips looked like shatter nail polish had been applied (only a very slight exaggeration). I wiped it all off and started again. This was much better. Second and third time wearing it and it applied like a dream.
I am choosing to believe the outermost layer of the lippie may have been a little waxier (for presentation purposes) and when I broke through I got to the good stuff. Who knows?
This lippie is very creamy for a matte, but I find it has long lasting finish. The longest I have worn it without eating is 3 hours, but during these three hours it stuck to my lips like MAC Russian Red. I am resigned to the fact I have to reapply ALL lipstick post eating, so that doesn't fuss me anymore.
Mostly, I adore the colour. In the sea of blue based reds in my collection, this baby stands out like a sore thumb (not least to her bright packaging).
