I am so lame, but it makes sense to me.
Since I lopped all my hair off and my go to style of top knots became impossible, my next best thing was to play up my natural curls and fluff up that hair like no tomorrow. I am a bit lazy when it comes to my hair. I rarely blow dry or do any form of heat styling, so I need products which work over time. Today, I show you my lazy girls guide to Va Va Voom Volume.
There are three easy peasy steps to Va Va Voom Volume. Lazy, I know.
- Coat your hair from root to three quarters down with dry shampoo. Let it soak in for a few seconds, then rub it in with your fingertips. Brush out with a comb.
- If you have quite straight hair or need a few extra curls, grab your heat styler and add a few curls around the front of your face (heading backwards for as much as you can be bothered). This will frame your face without you having to go the entire way around. Spray these with hairspray to help hold the curl.
- Once the curls have completely cooled, pour some magic dust (Zoe Foster term for hair powders, such as NAK Done and Dusted, Taft Dust It or Aveda Pure Abundance Hair Potion) into your hands, rub between your fingertips and apply to the under layer of your part, rubbing into the roots. Don't apply straight into your part unless you are going for a greasy look. Rubbing it in will create the volume, whilst helping break up the curls a little so they are not perfect Pollyanna curls.
Time to completion is generally about 3-5 minutes, depending on how long you heat style your hair for. Being winter my curls cool down my quicker, which is a huge bonus time wise.
So, what is your best hair trick for Va Va Voom Volume? I am always on the hunt for new and exciting things!
This is the picture I was talking about from Monday. Yes, I know I posted it on the blog yesterday and for that I am really sorry! It just fits so well, I had just done all of the aforementioned steps to my hair. xx
