This is a blatant copy of an idea from Makeup and Macaroons. Complete copy, down to almost the exact same $9.95 container from Bunnings. Copying is the sincerest form of flattery, right? Anyways, go read Lilit's post with the details, as I have nothing new to add, and I completely stole her idea.
I thought I better share my reasoning behind stealing another person's idea though, as justification. It all started with my Lipstick Tag post. I shared how I used to store my lipsticks, in their pretty little perspex containers. Then, the lovely Made Up Maiden commented and asked me if my perspex containers take up a lot of room. "Yes", I thought to myself, "they really, really do". Then I packed all my lippies and moved back home and didn't give my lipsticks another thought. Fast forward to a week later when I found out I was moving again. Considering constant moving is probably going to be my life for the next little while, I had to think about an easier, more travel friendly way to store my lipsticks. I remembered Makeup and Macaroons post, went to Bunnings and bought a very similar storage container. It is perfect.
The container is just the right height for lipsticks. The lid closes securely to keep all your little gems inside, clean and dust free. It is also deceptively big. I actually bought two because I thought my 82 piece lipstick collection might not fit in one. How wrong I was! As you can see, my 82 lipsticks fit in 4 little sections, and I had to fill the rest up with my lip balms (plus some glosses that I never use, but couldn't throw out as I would have an empty compartment). My second box now holds my costume jewellery and head scarves.
Not as pretty as little perspex containers, but way more functional.
How do you store your lipsticks? x
